KeyPlants are building a facility for production of aesthetic products in Uppsala, Sweden. This will be the largest Life Science facility ever built in Europe using modular offsite manufacturing. Basement, warehouse and other supporting functions are built on site, while GMP critical areas are fabricated in KeyPlants workshop.

This project will support the production of pre-filled syringes, significantly increasing vaccine capacity at the client’s main US manufacturing site.
The project was winning the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) Engineering Design Award 2024. The purpose of this award is to encourage Lean in Design and recognize the architects, engineers, designers, clients and constructors who work together to improve the design and construction process and produce design excellence in the built environment.

Project: #4
The client’s production facility is an EU-GMP licensed facility and produces Marek virus-based vaccines making use of CEF cells and as technology platform Roller bottle technology and ampoule filling.
The facility extension is designed as a two-store building with a top floor for mechanical installation and a ground floor for production clean rooms.
The modules were preinstalled in Sweden and shipped to site for assembly. The design and purchase are made according to local regulations such as NEN 1010.

A project to expand the HPV vaccine production volume at a site in USA. The project is called HPV Investment Case Project. To minimize construction work performed on site, as well as to achieve a significant reduction in the overall project schedule, a new approach requiring a full modularization of the building structure and its contents has been adopted. The modules were preinstalled in Sweden and shipped to West point for assembly. The design and purchase are made according to local specifications and NFPA 70.
